Impotant Information For Your Trekking Trip

Since you'll be hiking in the Shan Hills, you'll need to be prepared.

Here are some things you need to know:

Staying Healthy

It's important to wash your hands after hiking and before dinner.  Soap and water are available at the villages, but it's also good to have some of your own hand sanitizer.

Food

Hygiene is important, and the food we'll be preparing for you includes organic vegetables grown in the area.

What You Need To Bring

Good Shoes
You will be walking for 5-8hrs per day, and sometimes on uneven terrain.  This might include muddy sections in the rainy season.  Good hiking boots are recommended.

Towel
For washing at the end of the day.

Extra Clothes
In case your clothes get wet on the trek.  Also keep in mind that during the winter season (November - February) it can get quite cold at night in the villages in the mountains here.

Mosquito Repellent
Mosquitoes come out the most around sunset, but it's good to have repellent available throughout the day.

Sunscreen
The sun can be quite intense up here, even though the air might feel cool.  Be sure to protect yourself from sunburn and sunstroke.
